The place
“Breath of life.”
Mauliola means “breath of life,” or “the power of healing.” The Honolulu City Council named the area Mauliola in February 2025, and the Hawaiʻi Board on Geographic Names approved the name on February 13, 2026.
Hawaii Softball Foundation leases the complex from the State of Hawaiʻi (DLNR State Parks) and is responsible for building, running and maintaining it. The state and the city do not pay for its upkeep. Teams and groups register with HSF to use the fields, and the field calendar is the public record of who uses them.
