Hawaii Softball Foundation

Programs · Four 4 Forty

The next forty years start here.

This is one of the most impactful areas of what we do at the foundation. It is centered around our "Four 4 Forty" concept. This takes a student athlete's last 4 years of softball and positively impacts the next 40 years of their life. It is done through various means which creates an environment of sharing, nurturing, giving, learning, and growing. All parties are vital to this process including parents, coaches, officials, administrators, mentors, supporters, and media. If we all embrace this Four 4 Forty concept and let these principals drive our interactions on daily basis, we have a chance to create a future we are proud to be a part of.

Financial Aid/Scholarships

There are 2 separate programs which assist those families who are most in need and the individual who are most deserving. The financial aid programs is for those trying to gain acceptance to post secondary education and/or training. The scholarship program helps to offset the cost of the programs that you are currently a part of. These are two separate opportunities that share common goals. Please take a look at the programs we are offering, it's criteria, and how to apply.

Community Service

There is something for everyone, the key is to be diverse enough in our offerings to make a connection with each individual. We want to develop a mindset of want to and not have to as this is what make it sustainable as we move forward throughout one's adult life. Giving back is a learned action so we need to introduce the concepts early and often. Take a look at all of our partnerships and if there is something you would like to see or can offer, please let us know.

Academics

We look the academic space as an environment based upon the fundamentals of teaching and learning, where both areas are vital to the overall outcome. Our coaches are the teachers, our game is the classroom, and the players are the students. Everyone talks about learning life lessons through the game but we need to make sure the all 3 aspect are able to best serve each other through a culture of communicating, collaborating, mentorship, and continuing education.

Collaborations

These are companies and organizations that we are currently working with. The voice of a group is sometimes overlooked in what we are able to ask for. AS a softball community we have to power to influence more together that we do as individuals. Please look over our partners and use the benefits that they offer as this helps build our relationship with them which ultimately benefits the sport and those who participate in it.

Accomplishments

These are the metrics which drive the most impact in the world of giving. We all want to know that our contributions of time or money is actually making a difference. This data is driven by the team's ability to track and then share the data so we can give an overview of the impact the sport is having on the world. Over time this will become more evident and drive the ability to continue funding programs for future generations.
